PRN_tech is Perpetual Radio's newest technology show. Building on the success of TestDrive, and taking our passion for technology that founded this company in 2009, PRN_tech is more than just another review show. We go in-depth with the latest tech and gadgets to see how the work in the real world, and give our honest opinions about the products and services we review.

This week we're looking at our first Dash Cam, the Acumen XR10 dual-camera dash cam with a built-in video display.

Dashcams have quickly become an important norm in the auto industry, with some manufacturers like Tesla implementing software directly into their cars to utilize the cameras for the 360º system to function as dashcams. For those of us who don't drive a Tesla we need a third party solution like the Acumen XR10. It's...

Apple's latest iOS update brings some much needed changes to Apple CarPlay, the in-car iOS experience so many of us use on a daily basis now.

We wind up with another 'vintage' Lenovo ThinkPad, but this time it's from this decade! We go over some of the important details about our new-to-us X201 Tablet from Lenovo, including the UltraBase docking station.

There's no doubt this review is super late, we've had the Note 8 in our possession for quite some time now and haven't filmed anything on it until the very last minute. We switched over the SIM card from our iPhone 8 Plus into the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 for over a month and used it as our daily driver, along with the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro activity-tracking smartwatch. To make matters more interesting, we also switch...

We unbox a refurbished Dell PowerEdge T420 desktop server, which includes 2 495w PSUs, an Intel Xeon IvyBridge E5-2407 v2 2.4Ghz CPU with support for a second CPU, 24GB of ECC RAM, and 14 1TB 2.5" SAS drives. We love server hardware here at PRN_tech, so we jumped at the opportunity to try out this beast of a backup server.

Over the weekend I decided to purchase the cheapest rack-mount server for sale in Québec, quite possibly in Canada. Why? I think I have a problem with buying useless things, but for $20 I really don't think there's much wrong with the purchase. We are now the proud owners of a 2004-ish HP ProLiant DL380 Gen3 rack-mount server, and all the glory that comes with it's likely insane power consumption. We are planning t...

This is certainly going to be an interesting article for anyone coming from our TestDrive show, considering we haven't had a chance to feature much on PRN_tech since launching it at the beginning of the year. Perpetual Radio Networks was created as a tech news company, focusing heavily on consumer tech hardware like computers and smartphones, as well as photography and social interest. We've always been passionate abou...

We had the chance to use DJI's Osmo Mobile over the past couple months, in fact almost everything we've filmed for TestDrive since January has been shot using our iPhone 8 Plus paired with the DJI Osmo Mobile. It's allowed us to get much better clips for our episodes without having to use our huge Canon 6D DSLR, and allows us to shoot un 60fps.

It feels good to get back into the swing of things with a tech review. It's been almost 6 years since PRN did any tech coverage, and we're really kicking things off with the Sony Xperia XZ1. To be fair, Mobile World Congress is happening right now, and the XZ2 has already been announced, but there's still great value in this device despite it's successor coming soon.

We've all wanted to be able to watch videos in our car. 10 years ago I wanted to build a PC to put in the back of my 1983 Ford LTD Crown Victoria so I could have videos play on monitors I wanted to install in the back. I'm not shy to admit that, but I'm glad I didn't have to go through all that work when I could have just spent $100,745.00 on a 2018 Cadillac Escalade and another $49.00 on a Roku Express.
